HDR Photography

High Dynamic Range (HDR) is a style of photography where one tries to capture the various tones in image to make it have a rich look just like the photograph displayed above.

Modern digital cameras are now coming with this in Build HDR Feature, where it tries to identify both the dark areas and bright areas and apply some algorithm so that the sensor capture both the tones effectively.

However if you have digital cameras which dont have such capacity then the above feature can be achieved using softwares. Also you need to do certain task in order to achieve better result:

Try to use Tripod.
Take 3 snaps of different exposure(some cameras have inbuild feature that takes 3 continous shots of different exposure settings).

The reasons to take three shots is
A low exposure setting to capture the bright area
A high exposure settign to capture the dark area
And a mid exposure that will help in averaging out the exposure

Now using HDR software you can load these 3 images and the software will apply some algorithm to create an HDR image.

Now there are commercial HDR Softwares available in market, but this is a Free Resources blog, So following is the list of some free/open source software available in market:
